I am looking to form a band. I have many original compositions. They are mostly written on keyboards/piano, the rest guitar. The music is eclectic, moody, hypnotic at times, very structured, but always with room for improvisation and add-ins. However, I don't desire for this to be my band. I want musicians to bring in their own compositions and ideas as well. Playing more than one instrument, or having that ability, is a tremendous plus. THE ABILITY TO IMPROVISE, PLAY INSTRUMENTS IN NONE TRADITIONAL WAYS, CREATIVE USE OF SCALES AND PLAYING ODD TIME SIGNATURES IS A MUST! I envision a group that will be flexible to future growth and change. The influences listed below do not necessarily represent "how" my music sounds. Still, if you know most of them, we should already be in good company, and if you haven't, you should definitely check them out! If you like what you hear and have the talent, it's all good to me. I eventually envision two keyboards (probable me since I know mt material) plus a strong lead vocalist (though I can sing well enough), and possibly swing musicians. I also envision being 100% open to your musical visions as well!!!
EQUIPMENT
I have drums (lots of drums & quality cymbals). I also have two low-end (meaning cost) keys if needed. I'm not concerned with this aspect now as I am the time and effort that will have to be put into learning and memorizing long, fairly complex compositions. BUT SPECIAL EFFECTS ARE A MUST!
