'ello there. I'm a 23 year old drummer originally from Colorado and began around age 12. It really began when I became obsessed with Siamese Dream by the Smashing Pumpkins...hats off to them.
I studied music in Denver for about 2.5 years before I took off on a 4 month tour drumming for a semi professional gig. Playing anywhere from a sh*t-hole bar with watered down whiskey to the Viper Room in L.A. to opening up for Joan Jet. My 10-ish year experience in bands has always been that brother-hood-ish kind of vibe.
I am a hard hitter, but love playing soft intricate sh*t as well. Its all about the grove man, as cliche and generic as that sounds.
It terms of my style, it would have to be a jazz/tech infused rock...dirty rock for that matter. But that "genre mix" doesn't fully describe my playing I guess.
This "description" and idea i want to get across is incredibly difficult, yet painfully obvious at the same time.
Just think: 'Muse' meets 'Mute Math' meets 'The Doves' meets 'The Bad Plus' Meets 'Ben Folds' meets 'Radiohead'...yeah....vague enough for ya?
