Mistaken Identity band was formed in early 2010. All are experienced musicians who have played in performing bands. We range in age from the youngest being 35 to the eldest at 62 years old. We feel that we have a very good chemistry that enables us to complement each other musically. The members of the band are:
Linn Dimilta- Lead Vocalist. There are many facets to the extensive musical career of lead vocalist Linn. Music has always been influential and of utmost importance in her life. She began piano lessons at age 6, violin lessons at age 7, and also loved to sing in chorus and musicals throughout high school. Her focuses in college and graduate school were voice, piano, and music education. Linn has experience in studio recording and singing professionally over the past 12 years covering a wide range of repertoire from Rock, Top 40, Dance, Jazz, to even Latin/Caribbean. She has had the opportunity to perform in cities throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean Islands, and South America. Linn continues to work hard and be an active participant in the field of music.
Dave Connolly – Guitar & Vocals- Dave is a very versatile musician. He strives on perfection and is always open minded with his musical suggestions. Dave has studied classical guitar and has played in numerous bands including wedding bands. He also sings lead vocals and his harmonies are always on point. He is the Jokester of the group:
Musical History: Playing guitar for over 25 years. Studied privately for about 3 years, studied classical for about a year. The last couple of years have been spent studying elements of jazz. Played in some original bands who put out independent CD’s, opened up for some national acts and participated in various music festivals. I have been playing and singing all over the New York area in bands covering a wide range of material from classic and hard rock to R&B, funk, disco swing, jazz and 80s new wave dance music.
Steve Sheffron-Keyboards. Steve is an experienced keyboard player. He has played in many venues with small groups or with larger ones. As a member of the group Burgundy Keys they produced a CD. He creates many great sounds and is a standout when he plays.
Ron Dysart- Drums-Ron is a fabulous drummer who has played in many bands of all different genres. From the hardest rock to the softest ballads, Ron does a fantastic job at keeping the pace.
Brock Gibson- Bass Guitar & Vocals- We are happy to say that Brock has officially joined the band in Sept of 2011 He comes from a very talented musical family and is a very talented Bass guitarist who stepped in without missing as beat and adds a 4th voice to the vocals section.
Joe Salvato-Guitar & Vocals- Joe has been playing guitar since he was a teenager. He stopped playing for over 20 years due to family commitments. After picking it up again, he has been in a few bands that also played hard and classic rock to pop. Mostly a rhythm guitarist, Joe has always appreciated good lead vocals and loves harmonies.
