ABOUT
Joshua Núñez is a Mexican-American composer and guitarist, born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, USA. He earned a bachelor’s degree in classical composition from Georgia State University (GSU) where he studied under Dr. Nickitas Demos and Dr. Robert Scott Thompson; he studied jazz guitar there as well with Dave Frackenpohl; he also performed on trombone and tenor voice at various ensembles at GSU, as well as baritone voice at the Decatur First United Methodist Church. He is currently enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music (MSM) on track to earning a master’s degree in classical composition, studying with Reiko Füting and Lewis Nielson.
Before moving to New York City, Joshua was a member (2019-2021) of the Atlanta based alternative metal group, Misty Eyed, and a studio guitarist at Planet PXL, Atlanta, GA.
Joshua has taken lessons and masterclasses with notable composers such as Susan Botti, Donald Berman, Nickitas Demos, Reiko Füting, Aaron Helgeson, Amy Beth Kirsten, Lewis Nielson, Robert Scott Thompson, and Yiorgos Vassilandonakis.
