I am a well seasoned Percussionist/Drummer looking to join an established cover band in the Virginia Beach/Chesapeake/Norfolk area. I’ve been playing music for over 20 years along with experience playing in Cover Band. I have a strong ability to learn songs quickly, an open mind to feedback from others, and a work ethic that is expected from a professional musician.
Some basic highlights:
• In every band class through middle and high school where I was always either 1st or 2nd chair.
• Majored in music production at ODU.
• Fluent with reading/writing music along with a broad knowledge of chord structures and harmonies.
• I have performed approximately over 300 shows in original and cover bands up and down the east coast.
What I can do for you:
• I can play any genre in full band or acoustic settings on a drum set/dejembe as what you would expect from a professional.
• I can learn a large number of songs in a short period.
• I have professional equipment, reliable transportation, and even a practice space.
• Other instruments I am proficient at include ukulele and piano.
• With my degree in music production I am a very knowledgeable Percussionist in the studio setting where drum tones, consistency, and the ability to play towards what the song writer/producer is visioning.
• For low key settings I can also play anything with a snare/kick/hihat/tambourine pop kit.
Once again I am looking to join an established cover band with a history of playing gigs and a general strategy in place to book future shows. I am not looking to join a project on its way to becoming a band. My goal is to find a band that is in the process of having to replace their drummer, and to make that transition smoother and quicker than anyone would expect so the band can start moving forward again.
