The “Krimzon Band” is a variety band consisting of five members: a bass player and two – (2) vocalists/rhythm guitarists, one of which also plays the harmonica, a lead guitarist, and a drummer.

The band was formed in the fall of 2002 when Michael Norwood and Rob Browning were introduced to one another at a gig in the Upstate. Being the founding members of the group, both Michael and Rob were impressed by each others musical abilities. They began their musical relationship after they discovered that each not only had an interest, but also had been influenced by the music of “The Beatles”. They both grew up listening to their music, just as so many others have, appreciating the musical talents of the “Fab Four”.

After their introduction to a lead guitarist during the summer of 2003, the group began playing a variety of gigs in the upstate. Through this time, Rob developed an interest in audio amplification and began acquiring the needed PA System the band currently uses. As time passed and their musical cohesiveness developed, the band discovered their abilities and interests in a variety of music; which includes rock & roll, country, and blues style performances. The band’s bassists, Jeremy Shirley, came on board during the summer of 2004 and the group continued with this line-up throughout the fall of 2006, until the lead player exited the band. The band is currently searching for a lead guitarist.

The “Krimzon Band’s” variety style of music has shown to appeal to a wide audience, and their popularity continues to grow. The band enjoys playing locally throughout the upstate on a weekly basis and currently, they do not anticipate any other touring schedules beyond this. Influences

Rob Browning began his musical interest at an early age while listening to a variety of Rock & Roll groups of the sixties and seventies. Several of Rob’s musical influences include America, Bob Segar, Bob Dylan, Bad Company, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, CCR, The Eagles, and James Taylor just to name a few.

Michael C. Norwood’s influences are too many to mention here, but a few are America’s blue’s yodeler Jimmie Rodgers, The Beatles, John Denver, John Prine, John Fogerty, Hank Williams Jr., Hank Williams Sr., Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson, and many others in between. He also loves to “yodel” either in the Swiss style or the American Southern Blues style.

Jeremy Shirley, the Bass player for the Krimzon Band, began playing guitar at the age of nineteen. Being influenced by country, rock & roll, and blues music, in the mid 1990's, Jeremy played the college scene with an alternative rock band by the name of “Iris”. He had two songs on Clemson radio with the band and has also sung in an independent movie. Jeremy grew up listing to music by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, Hank Williams Jr., Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard.

Cecil Craig, the “Krimzon” drummer, has been playing drums in a variety of bands since the mid-sixties. He has played Rock & Roll along with Rhythm & Blues music and has been influenced by the music of “The Beatles”, “The Rolling Stones”, and “Motown R & B”. Cecil is a South Carolinian by birth and a “Gamecock” fan by the grace of God. He was married to his beautiful wife Carole, in 1970 and decided to take a break from music for a while. As time passed, Cecil reminisced about the fond memories of the music from his youth, so he bought a set of drums and has been beating on things ever since.
