ABOUT

The Don't Wannabees do NOT want to sound like the record. We play a mix of originals and our own adaptations of music, much of which is recognizable, but not from the top forty charts. We do versions of songs by Ben Harper, Wilco, Michael Franti, Joe Jackson, Men at Work .. sheeess. But our goal is a chill vibe -- we've got 5 pieces right now -- 2 guitars, drums, bass and keys; 3 of us sing and we do lots of harmonies. Love to have a female voice though; and loving the idea of adding a horn section and some latin precussion.

(I don't understand the categories for the buttons about playing gigs -- collectively we've played hundreds and hundreds of gigs between us all -- together, we play for fun; rehearse once a week depending on schedules; and try to gig about once a month). we practice on THURSDAY NIGHTS -- YOU REALLY GOTTA FIT WITH THAT!
