I have been playing music for some time. I studied composition formally, and I still really love to write. At this point I'd like to collaborate with a few people to see if we can get a good band sound and concept. I'd love to do something theatrical and or visual or arty. I wouldn't want to revive 70s art rock, but there were some good parts of that era that I would tap into. I fully disabuse all lengthy solos of any kind ;) other than in a jazz context, when the whole piece can be an improv. I'm pretty experimental and never like to do anything the same twice. Neutra
Neutra Album: Melange Genre: Pop
Pronounced "noitra", after the architect Richard Neutra. It's essentially a send-up of the feel of Bowie's "Let's Dance" over Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer", with a little bit of Can's "Vitamin C".

Goodbye to Berlin (EDM Mix)
Goodbye to Berlin (EDM Mix) Album: Melange
A tune done 80s-ish EDM-style. This does have lyrics and was written on acoustic guitar. The title is taken from Isherwood's 1930 novel about the waning days of Wiemar.

Dallas Tuxedo
Dallas Tuxedo Album: Melange Genre: Classic Rock
The Dallas Tuxedo is the inexpensive bass guitar that English bands played in the early 60s. Bill Wyman and John Paul Jones played one. The tune uses three tunings: DADGAD for the primary acoustic guitar part and two lap steel parts on in open G minor and open G. It is based on the chord changes of a folk/blues song called "Llanwddyn".
