ABOUT

I have a band called Lookin’ For Trouble (.lookinfortrouble ) and currently looking for a new a drummer with blues/rock sensibility. Have been playing for a number of years and have garnered quite a following. We are all over the age of 50, and have families, jobs, etc. But have created a great, blues/rock band that plays good music and want to see where it takes us.
BLUES MUSIC: - There is so much terrific blues music that is never heard, and we do a variety of stuff from the 20’s to the present. We take these wonderful tunes and create our own unique sounding arrangements to give them a contemporary feel. In addition to these we do quite a few original compositions as well. This unique take on the blues seemed to have worked well for us as it got us inducted into the L.A. Blues Hall of Fame! We’ve also been asked to open for the likes of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Charlie Musselwhite, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Eric Sardenas, Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, and many more. We recently released our 3rd album (available on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, etc.). We’ve had music in the charts and have sold music around the world.
BAND DIRECTION – Our line-up is guitar (me), bass, drums, lead singer (female). Our style of blues combines Chicago, Texas & California with a rockin' edge to it. We currently rehearse about once a week or as needed. I have my own ProTools studio where we may do some rehearsing as well. I also plan on doing more recording with the band.
ATTITUDE -I want this to be fun and worthwhile for the members involved – not a chore. I’m looking for people with no illusions of grandeur, good attitudes, and know their instrument well, but you don’t have to be “mega-musicians”.
MY BACKGROUND: - I've been playing guitar for over 40 years - done it all -from glam rock, hard rock, progressive rock, and blues, etc. I also play classical guitar fairly well. I was in a "big band" eons ago as well. But blues guitar is my favorite style and such a release for me and when the band is in the groove it just feels good! I’m a trained orchestrator, arranger, and composer. I’m also Certified by AVID in ProTools and have my own ProTools where I make a living as a music & sound producer for the entertainment industry. I play a pretty fair keyboard as well as other instruments. My main gear is a custom-made Hamer guitar (co-designed with Paul Hamer himself), as well as many others, and I use boutique amps such as Egnater & Brown Note.
We have gigs already booked up until November and still more coming in. We are based in Menifee, and play everywhere from Riverside all the way down to San Diego, but every once in awhile, we get gigs in Los Angeles, or even Santa Barbara. Most times we are in the Temecula area (wineries, clubs, etc.). We do get corporate and other type gigs as well. These are all paid performances. However, if you need this to make a living, this may not be for you. We have about 40 songs in our arsenal now, and I have recordings of all of them so new members can learn the arrangements. As I mentioned, many of the cover tunes we do NOT play like the original recordings, so if that is an issue this might not be for you. But the arrangements are very cool, and the audiences really dig what we do. This is what makes Lookin’ For Trouble different from other blues/rock bands.
I hope I’ve spelled out a little of what this band is all about. Let me know if you have any other thoughts or questions and, above all, if you are interested in auditioning. Greg at Lookin For Trouble dot com
