ABOUT

I’ve been told that I’m a musical freak. Even though I’m pushing 60 years being alive, my perfect pitch hasn’t changed. My left eardrum was repaired, and it’s even better for me now. I started my music lessons on accordion at age 6, moved to guitar when I was 10, and during the entire time, I was a working musician - whether it was recitals, private functions, junior high gigs, et al - I was full-tilt, and hit the road after high school. I studied guitar under the tutelage of the late Chet Kruley, a jazz guitarist extraordinaire in the US Northeast who had performed with big bands (Fletcher Henderson). He knew that I was going in a Rock direction, so he accommodated me after hearing me play my brother’s guitar. My understanding of music theory, between courses taken and Chet’s help, helped me later During my teens, my late parents facilitated keyboards and synthesizers, so I was in the early time of analog synthesizers, and my accordion lessons had opened the door to piano and keyboards. Yep. A musical freak with dead-on ears, perfect pitch, good chops and vocals. I was once the BoneFish’s resident tenor/lead guitarist; but after that, I ended up with spinal problems, a car accident, surgeries, and now - I haven’t performed in a live situation since 2010. Aside from street music, at any rate. I have to use a power chair to do my errands, etc. I will provide recorded examples of what I can do, and all I want is to find musicians who are “mature” like myself, who want to play music to MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY. No Trumpers, no anti-vaxxers, no idiots. I have NO patience for big lies, misdirected people or knowledgeable fools. Music is the food of love, the backdrop to our lives. Love wins.

Influences

Louis Prima, Tony Bennett, Buddy Greco, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, good Rock from Rick Derringer, awesome guitar leads from Jeff Beck, Santana, Steve Lukather (Toto), Steely Dan w/Larry Carlton and Denny Dias, Zappa with Herbie Hancock or George Duke on keyboards. Joe Sample and Pat Matheny for traditional and modern jazz. These people influenced my playing in many ways; it even helped me to study audio via AES, as I learned tricks to make tracks that pop. Mixes that move. With mix automation, I can make things happen whether it’s driven by MTC or available memory in my desk.
