I'm a 26 year old electric guitarist living in Hollywood, looking to form a jam band of sorts in a similar vein as Phish, Grateful Dead, Umphrey's McGee, Eggy, etc. Basically music with classic rock, blues, funk, jazz, country, folk, and even metal influences.
What I love about these bands is yes, the extended improvisational heady jams, but also the transcendence of genre and a willingness to explore the boundaries of music, especially in a live setting.
I would like to form a similar musical outfit where we focus on learning a lot of covers quickly so we could start filling setlists & booking gigs at local bars and stuff. Of course we could do originals down the line but I want to start practicing in front of audiences ASAP.
I'm looking for anyone who is interested but especially DRUMMERS! Finding a great drummer will definitely be key to the whole operation, so if you're interested, please let me know!
