ABOUT

Update: the last piece that I need is a solid bass player. I really want to put together a project that sticks and develops into something special. Need a bass player for a Pearl jam tribute and for my originals project. I have some really good players lined up just need the final piece. We rehearse in Arnold, MO Hmu. Thanks It takes a team of dedicated musicians without egos that are willing to work together. All members should have the same say and respect as the next guy. Maybe we should chat if you feel my pain. Ive played in and out of several original and cover bands since 1995. I am 42. I went on the road and toured cross country with my band flash cassidy back in 07-08. I wrote all the material for this band with some help from our lead singer. I'm not looking to do that anymore. Flash Cassidy disolved back in 2009. I would much rather collaborate with other writers if I go the originals route again.

My background is as follows. I started into music as a horn player and I was a Music ed major at SIUE once upon time. I got in my 1st band at 15 on bass guitar and started playing clubs before I had a drivers liscense. I sing lead and and or backup, play bass, and guitar. I also took 5yrs of piano between highschool and college. I dont play horns anymore but I could whip myself into good enough shape to record something if needed.

I really enjoy writing music and would love to find some like minded individuals to collaborate with. I have a tremendous amount of ideas recorded written material and fully written songs to work with. Whomever is involved would just need to pick a direction to go in. I love all music genres and write songs in many of them.

I take each project very serious. I have played 100s of shows in my time. That being said, I refuse to play a gig again unless I know its going to be something special. Its just not worth it to me. I have a family and fulltime job as many people do. Time is precious. This means I am no longer going to waste my time playing for freebeer/$100 gigs at little bars 3 nights a week. Been there done that. Or... Performing for a couple friends and the bar staff. No Thanks I'm good..

I would prefer to do maybe 1-2 rehearsals per month and 2-4 shows per year max. That would give us 3 months of preperation and time to promote a particular show. Maybe make some actual money. But...Since my touring days it seems to end the same way. We had some fun but we never play a show. Usually someone flakes out or someone in the line up refuses to commit time to practice at home. People need to practice on there own time. Rehearsal is not the time to learn the song. Its not cool to everyone else who showed up prepared.

I am totally down with the tribute thing but I dont want to tribute any group unless we can do it some serious justice. In a perfect world we would choose a different band each time we play out. This also means playing the music as written, learning the ACTUAL parts. I dont want a band that only learns the basics of the music and just wings it. This is obviously from the tribute band stand point. That might work for some people but like Cypress Hill once said, "I aint goin out like that" On the otherhand, if its an original project, I would want to make those covers our own interpretation. It doesnt happen overnight. It takes alot of time, development, and ground work.

I miss playing out but im in no rush to make a fool of myself. I want people to be impressed with the performance and start a buzz around town. 1st impressions are everything.

I am in no big hurry.

I will post some videos and tracks of my past written songs. I encourage you to send me videos or audio of you playing in your messages. Or shoot me a message and I will give you my cell number.

I am also available to join an existing band with a similar mindset.

If you're interested in chatting then hit me up.

Thanks
Michael
