SWAMPY'S BAND CHAT

Hi everyone, currently I am playing rhythm / lead guitar or keys and electronic drums while singing lead vocals (and I must say that I am a bit overwhelmed with all that music making all by myself). Since I am primarily a vocalist / bassist & rhythm guitarist, I will readily switch instruments if you want to play any of those instruments I mentioned or sing, please come on over. Don't hesitate over concern for your own musical skills, I'll respect your talent at any level and will help you develop your skills even further, if you will allow me. You won't find any attitude here, I can teach you whatever you may feel you need to improve to stage performance level enabling you to play as a band member in any band. Simply show up for rehearsals and / or special lessons, learn to perform your parts in the songs, and most of all, have a good time! Laissez les bon temps rouler!

GOALS & VISION::

The Millennium Mix Band's primary focus is to SAFELY have a good time while performing and enjoying the music we make. We will perform mostly on the Lake Pontchartrain North Shore and in Coastal and Southern Mississippi. We will not be doing any tours, considering age, ongoing medical issues, the cost of fuel, and family obligations dictating we stay nearer home. I also don't envision booking any New Orleans venues until the rampant crime and gun violence is well under control. I personally witnessed a fatal shooting at a gig at arm's length right in front of me and I prefer not ending a gig covered in some victim's blood spatters and grey matter from the gun violence, much less possibly becoming a victim myself or dealing with all the trauma it causes the survivors! Nor do I want to spend the night answering questions and giving statements to the investigating officers. A Good Time just doesn't end in a gunfight! I am getting old, but I'd prefer not becoming just another sad statistic by taking a thug induced shortcut to that forever gig in the sky! Likewise, neither do I want any of the band members to become a victim of armed robbery or a carjacking while loading or unloading the musical equipment before or after a gig! I want the whole band to get back home safely after having a good time doing the performance!

Our performances will consist of rehearsed cover songs and a few original tunes, primarily for parties and special benefits, wedding receptions, festivals, and concert events, avoiding the lounge scene if possible ... I'm tired of dealing with inflaming my eyes and lungs caused by the smoke, likewise I am tired of dealing with all the hassles with the drunks, dopers, and brawls. Since performing music doesn't feel much like work to me, it must still be fun, right??? Laissez les bon temps rouler!
