We are a post emo/hardcore alternative rock band that is currently looking for someone who is a bassist/singer to join our current three members to round out our lineup. If you don’t play bass, but can sing to fit our sound that would be fine as well. We have been writing and practicing our own original material and are ready to take that next step to adding the key piece of a lead vocalist who can also play bass. Our ultimate goal is to play a few shows locally going into next year and to get some professional recording done.
The three members are early to mid-thirties who have been playing music together on and off over the past 15 years or so. We recently came back together to work on this current project. Our sound is very much influenced bands like Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, and Bayside. The singing style we had envisioned adding would be a voice along the lines of a mix of Geoff Rickly (Thursday) and Tim Kasher (Cursive). We are flexible on this and are only using these examples for a reference of the ballpark we are looking for. Current members can also provide backing vocals where applicable/needed. Ideally whoever joins the band would be laid back, mid-twenties to late thirties, have a sense of work ethic and share the same balance of drive/joy we have for playing this music. We all have full-time jobs and aim to practice about once a week, but with everyday responsibilities may only be able to 2-3 times a month. We are mostly based and practice in the central Jersey area with members coming from Old Bridge, Keyport and Jersey City. We have a space to practice in Keyport and we also occasionally get studio time in Jersey City as well.
