I've been playing guitar for about 15 years (self taught), but I'm not at the level I would like to be at, so I am looking for other musicians to "jam" with so that I can get the experience of playing in a group. My main focus for a long time has been trying to write my own songs. I haven't completed any because my ideas always tend to involve instruments or concepts that I'm just not familiar with, so I would like to meet people that are willing to sit with me and try to come up with ideas. I'm not interested in being a band leader, although I would like to take the lead on some of the song ideas, but I'm also not looking for someone else who just wants to be "in charge".

Influences
My main influences have been Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Boston, Jimi Hendrix, and a lot of other classic rock bands, but I have also been influenced a lot by more recent alternative rock groups (too many to list).
EQUIPMENT
I have a 6 string Peavey Route 61 acoustic/electric guitar, a 12 string Ibanez Performance acoustic guitar, an Alvarez 6 string acoustic, a classical acoustic guitar, and a BC Rich Rave electric 6 string guitar (not great, but it plays well enough to get by).

This was a rough first attempt at recording an idea I came up with, and it's nowhere near complete, but it's a good start.

This is another rough recording. I was just screwing around, trying to get a sound that was like a mix between Soundgarden and Tool.

I'm not really even sure how to describe this one. I would say it's like something you would hear in a soundtrack.

The World
The World Genre: Progressive
I started using some samples, and came up with the guitar part that plays from the beginning, but I haven't really figured out where to go from the opening section. The lead guitar is an old friend of mine, and that track was recorded a long time ago, playing along to another song. I took that track, and offset it by about two beats, so it kind-of fits, but it's not really the style I was going for in the first place. I'd like to try to figure out what to do with this one because I really like it.
