ABOUT

Started playing bass in high school to play punk songs with my friends. played for several years, but never got serious and learned any theory or anything like that. After about 5 years life got busy and I gave away all of gear. About a year ago I bought another bass and began taking weekly lessons and got really serious about it. I play almost every day and feel like I have developed into a pretty solid bassist. I wouldn't call myself a soloist by any means, I like to write lines based on a strong groove that drive the music from the bottom and slots in well between the drums and the melody. I am at the point where I feel like I am ready to start playing with other people again in a serious capacity. I'm not too interested in doing a cover band. COvers can be fun to do here and there, but ultimately I want to be doing original work.

I would like to eventually do gigs, but I have a full time job so I'm probably not your guy to be doing tours with. But if you want to play shows around New England, I'm game.

Influences

I grew up listening to a lot of 60's and 70's pop music, lots of Motown and Stax and some classic rock, so that is a huge influence for me. But I also like a lot of modern music, like Streetlight Manifesto, Weezer, Suburban Legends, Big D and the Kid's Table, Blink-182, Bedouin Soundclash, Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, The Police, Chili Peppers, MxPx, Incubus, Five Iron Frenzy, Save Ferris, Death Cab, 311, Audioslave.
