ABOUT

Percussionist available for world/latin/jazz/acoustic music gigs, studio or live.
I've played drums and percussion for 30+ years. I lived in Ghana for 7 years and wrote a book on African drumming. I teach ethnomusicology and am looking for 'world music jazz latin folk band' opportunities, either short- or long-term. I can teach complete percussion ensembles from Africa and Brazil. I produced 2 CDs and have done studio recordings. I regularly play Latin percussion with a gospel funk 10-piece band (Chosen). I'm the lead percussionist with a global music ensemble (Izibongo). I recently was the fill-in percussionist for the Latin jazz/flamenco fusion group Nomad at Sohos, sitting in on 2 day's notice. I also recently played with Russ Hewitt (flamenco jazz fusion). Drop me a line, you'll be glad!
