Are you a multi instrumental musician with a strong proficiency in guitar? Are you tired of playing the same old crap? Have you been looking for a project that will utilize ALL of your talents? Does your creativity feel stifled in your current project? Are you tired of stereotypical drug-using, egomaniacal rock musicians with bad attitudes? If you answered yes, then we might be the project you are looking for, minus the bad attitude of course. If you are gonna rock, ya gotta have a little attitude right?
Here's what we are looking for…….
1. A male or female who is comfortable playing music outside of traditional song structure. Instead of verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, outro, you may play something more like… random noise, intro, 2nd intro, verse sounding thing, pre chorus, completely different part, chorus, actual verse, something that sounds like the chorus, another completely different part, another verse sounding thing but in a different time signature, abrupt end.
2. Someone who is proficient in guitar and can do some lead stuff but nothing too technical. We don't require a Zakk Wylde or Joe Satriani, but it wouldn't hurt.
3. Someone who is proficient in other instruments as well as guitar. This is more optional. If guitar is your thing and you are good at it, great. Hit us up. However, if you can also play the trumpet, a jug with XXX on it, the harmonica, zither, accordion, violin, spoons, jew's harp, recorder or even that annoying stringy thing you hear in all the traditional Japanese music you get Extra Brutality Bonus Points! (Bonus points not redeemable for anything of value)
4. Someone who is not a flake and has their own reliable transportation. Being independently wealthy and owning your own tour bus gets you SUPER Extra Brutality Bonus Points. (SUPER Extra Brutality Bonus Points may be redeemed for a six pack of whatever beer the rest of the band can afford)
5. Someone between the ages of infancy and death. Although if you are some form of undead like a vampire and can provide proof, see the section on SUPER Extra Brutality Bonus Points above.
Now a bit about us. We have a solid rhythm section, a talented female singer and a very creative rhythm guitar player who can also do keyboards. We have a place to practice though we cannot leave our gear set up. We have pro gear including a PA system. Our influences vary. If you like Tool, King Crimson, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Stolen Babies and Celine Dion, you will like most of our influences. If you like Celine Dion, please disregard this entire post.
To hear a couple of instrumental snippets, go to www.myspace.com/puppetree and take a listen.
Tool, King Crimson, Pantera, Machinehead, Soilwork, Dream Theater, Nine Inch Nails, seriously we like all kinds of music and we try to draw our inspiration from whatever happens to strike us.
Enough to play any sized gig anywhere. We have all pro gear, including lights and PA.
