Rhythm guitarist looking for a heavier project. Ideally something that combines elements of genres like doom and ambient with black or death metal. Something you can really headbang to, but also has lots of depth.
Looking for likeminded players and the right situation. I have kids, so my availability is often limited. But when I commit to something, I really stick to it. This is a hobby for me, but I am passionate about music. My hope is to gig locally on a somewhat regular basis.
I cut my teeth playing rhythm, mostly Tool. But I've been venturing heavily into leads and metal riffing the last few years. Writing is not my forte, hoping to connect with people who can push me to be better there. I am very good at dissecting and understanding elements of a song, though.

Influences
A little bit of a variety, ranging from radio rock to blackened death. Always with melodic elements.
Heavier bands would include Tool, Opeth, Katatonia, Insomnium, Dark Tranquility, Gojira, Harakiri For the Sky, Ghost Bath, Tesseract, Periphery, Cloudkicker, Swallow the Sun, Abigail Willliams, The Great Old Ones, Enshine, Neurotech...the list goes on.
Radio stuff includes Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, Linkin Park, 3DG, Lacuna Coil, etc.
I don't do any "core" genres.
