Bill Tomisser and Jennifer Weakland searched for the players that became the Power of Ten for over a year from March of 2004 through February of 2005 holding auditions several times before all of the players were selected. They advertised and put up posters in the local music stores but ultimately, it was one of those things where they found one guy and he knew another guy and well, you had to be there. They wanted the Soul Crackers to be one of the State of Alaska's top bands and selected their members accordingly. The Power of Ten has a retired as well as an active music director from the local school system. They have two members that are retired from the Air Force Band, a highly respected professional band playing everything from pops to jazz and show tunes. Other members have been playing around Anchorage for more than 20 years and have played in well-known bands such as "Mickey and the Mustangs", "Out of Control", “Waldo”, and “Magic”. It is a group of highly talented musicians that have found that they love playing together have the ability to bring out the best of R&B, Motown, and Soul while playing the best dance music your foot ever tapped itself to.
