ABOUT

Dynamic drummer, playing on stage since 16 years old. Last 30 years, played Blues with top South Florida and Northern AZ artists. Major festival experience in Fla and AZ. Memphis IBC experience from PHX and NAZBA, semifinalist in 2017. Heritage International Blues Hall of Fame inductee 2019, both drummer and blues ambassador. Founder of the Northern Arizona Blues Alliance, a 501 c(3), in 2013. Recently backed Blues Music Award winner Kat Riggins at Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in PHX and Grammy winner Lurrie Bell at Elks Theatre, downtown Prescott.

Prior music focused on Country (Waylon, Willie, Merle, Hank Jr and Sr., Charlie Pride, David Allen Coe) among others. Country Rock includes Allman Brothers, Charlie Daniels Marshall Tucker.

Earliest music playing focused on what was considered #1 Fakebook......jazz and show standards ranging from Take 5, Girl from Ipanema, Green Dolphin St, to Sinatra and Tom Jones tunes, to show tunes.

Influences

Buddy Rich....saw him 16 times and met him in person at the Playboy Plaza in Miami Beach at a poolside gig. He invited the band to his show that evening and we sat front row at his table with his daughter Cathy Rich.

Tama - large kit, 22x20 kick, 6 piece, with Gilbralter rack system.

Custom kit - Small kit, 20x18 kick, 6 piece. All Keller maple shells utilizing Yamaha YESS mounting system.

Go to every day kit - 1969 Ludwig 22x16 kick, 5 piece.

22 cymbals used in various combinations, depending on gig. Rides include 22" zildjian, 20"zildjian minicup, 20" Paiste Power ride. Crash range from 18" to 12", various thickness and tones depending on gig. Hi hats include two different zildjian sets both 12".

Multiple snare drums (6)

Electronic - Alesis DM 10, mesh heads. Fullset, used primarily for at home rehearsal.
