I have been playing saxophone and composing music(Film scoring) since i was very young. I play alto and soprano sax and played all through junior high and high school. Started playing professional gigs when i was 17. Then went to Clackamas Community College and majored in music. I was there for 3 years and played in many performing groups such as the Jazz ensemble, wind ensemble, Jazz combo's, vocal jazz ensemble. During this time at school i had a lot of professional and studio work done. The Vocal Jazz group put out a CD as well as a couple of big band albums with the Jazz ensemble. In august of 1996 I joined a band called, The Sauce Unlimited in which i was part of a 3 man sax section. we were a large group(about 8 members)and played many styles of music; Rock, Progressive rock, Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Punk,Latin, A Polka, Ska, and funk and Disco. We recorded a professional Cd in 1998 called "Greetings from the fourth floor". In this band we only played two covers and the rest were all original compositions. We shared the stage with groups such as The Royal Crown Revue( the band in the Movie" The Mask"), The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. We Played all over the Portland metro area including Astoria, Bend,Salem, and Hood River. In 2001 i joined a progressive rock band and played keyboard and sax in that group for about 2 years. I don't have an ego when i play music because it's all about the music at that moment not me. I'm a very humble player and enjoy collaborating with other musicians that have that same passion.
I have many influences and listen to all types of music. Well here they are: David Sanborn, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Santana, Oingo Boingo(Danny Elfman), Peter Tchaikovsky, Jerry Goldsmith, Pink Floyd, Moby, The Blue man Group, Paul Dukas, Igor Stravinski, Johann Sebastian Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Miles Davis, Paul Desmond, Leonard Bernstein, Bernard Herrman, Franz Waxman, Edvard Greig, Artuo Sandoval, John Williams, Henry Mancini, Chick Corea, B.B. king, The Who, Led Zepplin, Queen, Early hip hop music circa 1983-84, Tears for Fears, The Cure, The Doobie Brothers, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Lang, Maynard Ferguson, James Brown, Tower of Power, Billy Joel, Talking Heads, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many, many more.
