I am new to the northern VA area, looking for friends to jam with, some home recording, maybe occasional lite gigging. Primarily am an electric guitarist, pretty experimental. Have gear but nowhere to play particularly loud. My mp3 dot com page has lots more sample tracks, under this same account name. Mail me at travisdflower at yahoo dot com

Influences:

There's a few big categories: 1: Prog / artsy stuff like Zappa, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, Rush, Police, Mahavishnu, Hendrix, Primus, Tool and so on.
2: Guitar-heavy alt stuff like Sonic Youth, pre-1994 Pumpkins, Radiohead, Yo La Tengo.
3: Funkadelic, Meters, MMW, Galactic
4: Tom Waits (what else would you categorize with him???)

Equipment List:

Amps: Fargen custom Mini-Plex; Carvin X-60B; Mesa Boogie DC-5; PJB Briefcase Bass Amp; I guess these days we can also say Vox TonelabLE and Amplitube
Fx: Lots. Now I am just adoring my two new Skreddy fuzzboxes; other favs: Zvex Fuzz Factory, Maestro phaser, EH Micro Synth, Vox 848 wah, Line 6 rack Echo, a bunch of other stompboxes, gobs of comp plugins.
Guitars: Clapton strat and Les Paul Studio, Washburn acoustic; Warwick bass
Recording Equip: good for an amateur: either a Roland HD recorder or direct into computer. Some decent mics and rack gear.
Misc fun percussion.
