The posted Songs:
Note: The songs I post will usually be differing styles, not necessarily my typical styles: blues / rock / folk / 'jazzy stuff' / other . . .
.
1) "Teach me That Bass" Hot Jazz
2) "Jaunty Boy" - Complicated finger-picking
3) "The 4th Emotion," Blues-rock-jazz. Vey upbeat.
.
4) "Molasses Blues." Vocals by Julie Jazz; the lyrics of the last verse are now different than sung . . .
.
5) "Bum-bum Padum" - Kind of jazzy, kinda funky, kind of rock
.
I'm in Madison, CT, and I've been playing Rhythm Guitar (& Bass) since the mid 70's.
I play acoustic guitar, now: no distortion, just a clean amplified boost.
.
I do 99% originals. Most of my songs are between styles; blues, rock, jazz, funk, folk, swing, easy listening, boogie, some finger-picking, mostly instrumentals . . .
.
I like a lot of styles . . . . but . . .
> > > No Metal, Rap, Punk, no screaming < < <
.
I like hundreds of other styles . . . most music.
I don’t listen much to other artists anymore, but I used to listen to:
Beatles, Yes, Santana, Blues Brothers, Leo Kottke, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Brian Setzer, Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, Skynyrd, Credence, Alman Brothers, Jeff Beck, Mamas & the Pappas, Aerosmith, Beethovan, ELP, REM, Frampton, Grover Washington, Sade, Tangerine Dream, C S N & Y, Cheryl Crow, Enya, Duran Duran, Strauss, Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Madonna, Pink Floyd, 3 Dog Night, Doors, Depeche Mode, Queen, Cars, JJ Cale, Jethro Tull, K.T. Tunstal, Peter Paul & Mary. . . many, many others.
.
Now . . .
After over 30 years, I have over 55 originals, and several copyrighted songs. No standard '3 to 5 chord songs.
I'm always looking for other musicians; but if you've only been playing 3-5 years - you probably won't be able to play most of the songs. It depends upon how much you've practiced, not how many years ago you started . . . many of the songs require advanced skills.
. . . you're very welcome to try . . .
.
My goals:
1) ENJOY playing the music.
2) Get the music into as many ears as possible.
3) Make a few bucks doing it.
4) Keep producing new music.
5) See #1
.
I'm pretty laid-back . . . I enjoy playing with others, and if you're a bass guitar or lead guitarist, or ANY musician, - you'll find that these songs are fun to play.
Also, looking for a female vocalist to sing a few songs ... If you can sing in-key and are willing to learn 4-5 songs, you'll can some some exposure at open mikes. If things work out, you'll get paid for gigs.
Anyone responding should be able to find time to play or sing for - oh - maybe 4 hours a week (negotiable).
.
Hey, friends, be brave. :)
You may be better than you think you are . . .
