ABOUT

RIZEN has been an idea of mine ever since we first started back in 2002. By January 2003 we had a complete line-up with a few songs under our belt and a few shows to get that LIVE STAGE feel. Come 2004, we had a better understanding of what we wanted to do, of where we wanted to go and how our music needed to sound. We wanted to and still to this day, I want to release this music to the mass because out of everyone I know and who has heard this music, I believe it has the potential to be better than the rest. RIZEN is a thrash/death metal band located in the Bronx NY. All of the original members, besides me have either started families, or are pursuing other projects, weather it be music or work. I am looking for skilled and most importantly DEDICATED musicians in the form of a drummer, lead guitarist and vocalist to complete a new line-up for 2012. I want to take this band to where it should be...and take these songs and have them heard by as many people as possible. I have 18 original songs written, with 3 demos. Influences

My main influence over the span of the last 8 years has been early era Sepultura. Max Cavalera has been a major influence on the bands writing. The band's music has also been influenced by bands such as Dying Fetus, Malevolent Creation, Kreator, Exodus, Iced Earth, At The Gates, The Haunted and Testament. My personal favorite bands are Symphony X and Alter Bridge, as I am a huge fan of both Michael Romeo, Russell Allen (symphony X) and Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge) respectively
