What you'll get out of my horn is a great sense of melody and harmony.
I do best in the horn section for a larger band. Think Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, I read some, but do better with rehearsals.
I know the heads to a lot of bebop songs... some of which I can actually solo over, haha.
I understand showmanship, so I'll learn the dance steps for the horn section.
In smaller bands, I can hold my own in a Dixieland setting.
Back to what I said about melody, when I solo, I try to create relatable melodies (rather than just noodling over chord changes).
