I`m a 28-year-old guitarist/singer/songwriter looking to start a band in Las Cruces, NM. I`m also a grad student, but want to find musicians interested in playing on the weekends and getting a set together to play at some local venues. Looking for bass player and drummer I would like to sing/play guitar, and do some original songs but also lots of covers of 60`s garage rock and blues/jazz jamming. When I say blues, I`m thinking Howlin` Wolf and John Lee Hooker, not Stevie Ray Vaughan! (Nothing against him, just not my style...) I`m confident I`m a very accomplished guitarist, playing somewhat in the style of Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. I`ve also written some original tunes in the styles of Ray Davies, (early) David Bowie, Steve Marriott, etc. I`d be happy to play with anyone of any age, but I honestly not interested in the "alternative" metal/rock which seems to be quite popular nowadays. Besides, with a couple Humble Pie or Jeff Beck Group covers we could blow everyone else off the stage anyway.
