Think "Big Band comes to Brass Quintet". We are 5 horns and a drummer. We have a 3 hour ballroom dance book and also cover jazz, swing, Park Band, Dixieland, Ragtime and classical as the gig calls for.

Influences

Johnny Coppola was my friend and mentor. He had the biggest sound in a trumpet player I've ever heard. He used to play lead trumpet with Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Charlie Barnett, Billy May and worked with a Who's Who of show biz - Frank Sinatra, Dizzy Gillespie, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Ethel Merman, etc.

Johnny was one of the funniest human beings I ever met and he could cook as well as he played trumpet. I miss him a great deal.
