BIOGRAPHY
Samuel Joseph Brawner, aka Nucleus, was born on August 8, 1956 in D.C. General Hospital. Samuel has resided in the DMV his entire life. Samuel became interested in music at the age of eight and started learning instruments such as the harmonica, xylophone, organ, clarinet and percussions. Not until he learned that he had a natural ability to play drums without any lessons did he realize playing drums was his gift . At thirteen, he started focusing on the drums while still experimenting with other instruments.
Samuel has since performed with artist the likes of Solomon Burke, Gene Chandler, Rufus Thomas, Carla Thomas, Tyrone Davis, Bobby Parker, Cayenne Soul, Clock Work, The Young Bucks, Signature Live, C. Barns Project, Nucleus and Friends, C.W. Harrington and the Blues Messengers, The D.C. Blues Society, Fast Eddie and the Slow Pokes, Excell Band, The Stimulations, The Realistics , Phil Flowers , The Clovers, Pookie Hudson and the Spaniels , The Flamingos , Haji and Friends, The Horizon Band, Grace Community Choir , Memphis Gold , The Sounds of Harmony , Men in Motion , Gloria Brown , The Orioles, Princes DY, The Moonlighters, Kenny Holmes and Show Biz Band , Eddie and Denise, Anna Mhalago and Afro Floetry , Mahala South African Band , Rebee Jackson , The Winstons and many others.
