It has come to my attention, that you have to pay to be able to contact other peoples profiles. You can receive messages for free and reply to those, but only from people who have paid. So for those who haven't paid who might want to contact me, my email is rowthornstudios at g mail dot com.
I'm a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and recording artist. Plenty of solo and band experience both recording and live. I have worked a lot on other peoples music, done plenty of open jams with everybody from bluegrass to rap, done fill in work for bands, and I even did a soundtrack for a friends film school project once, which was a lot of fun.
I'm looking for other musicians who might want to jam, or possibly a band to join. Mostly original music in a collaborative setting.
This is a tiny bit of my solo stuff, I have so so much more, and I'd like to hash out some of my originals with other people, again, in a collaborative setting instead of me telling you what to play and being some kind of musical over-mind trying to control everything. And I would also like to do your music in the same way, working together, everybody bringing something to the table, and seeing what we come up with as a band.
Not against covers but would prefer a unique spin on them if we do them.
I am interested in a lot more than just playing local gigs. Videos, movie soundtracks, an online presence, recording, etc...
I am also not attached to the name 'Sasquatch and the Aliens'. It's just what I have come to call my solo works. My solo works originally started as a means to show people I could play the instruments I said I could play, but they've taken on a life of their own and I enjoy making them just for the sake of making them now.

Influences
Paul Simon(after Simon and Garfunkel but that stuff wasn't bad), Pink Floyd, Primus, Violent Femes, Widespread Panic, Die Antwoord, Nirvana, Alexi Murcoch, Dead Can Dance, Classical Music, Movie Soundtrack Music, Rusted Root, Imagine Dragons, U2, Pearl Jam, Sweet Relief(tribute album), Tunng, Rage Against The Machine, Blues Traveler, Mumford & Sons, Gorillaz, Sylvan Esso, The String Cheese Incident, Tori Amos, Planet Drum(the album), Of Monsters and Men, Smashing Pumpkins, Aurora, DeVotchKa, ODESZA, Benny Goodman, Stan Getz, Massive Attack, Cake, Bela Fleck's bluegrass stuff and a little of his jazz stuff, and oh so much more.
There is some good stuff in every genre, but in general not a big fan of metal, country, 80's glam, and some jazz is alright but that genre is pretty hit and miss.

Steering clear of makes and models.....
Acoustic guitar, bass, banjo, and mandolin in the strings section.
Accordion, synth, keyboard in the keys section.
Djembes, doumbeks, bongos, congas, udu, castanets, tambourines, a cymbal, cajun snare, vibraslap, guiro, shakers, cabassa, shells, rain stick, electronic drum kit, in the percussion section.
Kalimbas, xylophone, tongue drum in the melodic percussion section.
Mouth harp, kazoo, harmonica, pseudo sax, and more in the random section.
A few small amps, a 16 track recording apparatus, condenser mic, a few standard mics, lapel mic, mic stands, echo pedal, multi-effects pedal, and some other random stuff.
I am constantly collecting more stuff on an as needed basis. About to upgrade my recording gear hopefully in the near future.
A few things on my future wish list are waterphone, friction drum, more cymbals, a loop station, and more.

Tango Track number: 6 Year: 2017 Album: Sonny Allen Project Genre: Rock
This is the only song on this page from my last band. I played and wrote or improvised the acoustic guitar, acoustic guitar with mild distortion, bass, djembe, congas, bongos, tambourine, harmonica, keyboard effect, vocal melodies and echo, and added in the spoken word from a late night radio station. The screaming electric guitar solo towards the end is my brother Joel. The lyrics were by someone who I no longer have contact with. The kit drums were played by someone who I also no longer have contact with.
