Sedona plays traditional country music that is colored by the diverse musical backgrounds of its members. Solid vocals and harmonies, songwriting skills and accomplished musicianship complete the picture. Sedona's music has a richness and depth that is refreshing in today's market.
Musical influences are Daryle Singletary, Keith Whitley, Brad Paisley, Steve Perry, Rush, Journey, Rascal Flatts, Eric Church to name a few from country and rock music.
Founding Band members:
Kenneth Saberin - violin/fiddle/piano/voice: Ken has been playing violin and piano since 1999. He is traditionally trained. He sat in on fiddle with Daryle Singletary at several of Daryle's shows during the summer and fall of 2006 and received a warm welcome from the crowd and a big grin from Daryle each time.
Michael Spelta - bass/vocals/songwriting/acoustic guitar
Michael has been playing bass since 1977. He was active in several rock projects over the years in the Washington, DC/Baltimore metro areas. He played bass in Blitz in the early 80s, sang lead for the very popular local band, Snydly Crunch in the mid 80s, participated in the originals project, Industry, with Paul Baker, to name a few past projects, but his heart has always belonged to country music. He began writing country music in the 1990s, after moving from the Washington, DC area to Florida. His musical influences are Daryle Singletary, Steve Perry, Brad Paisley, among others. Several years ago, he returned to the Washington, DC area. He is an accomplished songwriter and has recently recorded several of his original works. When he's not playing or writing music, he works for the U. S. Botanic Garden.
Helping us out:
Paul Baker - drums/Percussion/vocals: Paul has been playing drums since the 1970s. He has worked in several different projects, both rock and country, over the years, and is wonderfully skilled in whatever music he plays.
Garrick Alden - Lead Guitar/Vocals:
Garrick has been playing guitar since about 1968. From about 1971 through 1981, he played in various Rock, Jazz and Top 40 cover bands. He switched to playing country music in 1982.
From 1985 through 1987 he lived in Nashville, TN and played Lead Guitar with “The Four Guys,” at the Grand Ole’ Opry. He moved back to Maryland in 1987.
In about 1990 he opened his own fully operational recording studio since his interests and career were focusing on recording and producing music.<br>
Garrick plays all different styles of music but country is closest to his heart. Guitar legend, Danny Gatton called him a world-class country guitar player in and article published in Guitar Player Magazine.
In addition to playing guitar, Garrick can play bass, piano, rythmn guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, drums, mandolin and keyboards. He’ll also sing when the need arises.
He frequently works in another project with Mike Chakwin to back up veteran recording artist Ronnie Dove.
When he is not writing, arranging, singing, recording, producing and engineering music for himself, other artists/groups and other projects from his home studio, he isn’t happy, just ask his wife Cindy!
He is active at The Barn, a country music venue and radio show, out of Olney, MD.
