25 year old guitarist. I have been playing for 11 years. I've had one serious band prior to this. It was a progressive metal band, in which I played lead guitar. For me, metal is at its best when it has dynamics, and allows for slower, melodic parts to contrast and compliment the heavy sections. However, I can get down to straight forward brutal stuff as well. And on the other side, I'm not opposed to being in a band that is just rock. I would happy as long as the music is good and original.
Currently, I've got a full time day job that does require some travel, but I generally have every night available and weekends for practice and gigs, and I would be willing to take significant time off or look for something else if touring becomes a possibility.
