ABOUT

Former gigging pop punk bassist in the late 90s (played similar style to Face to Face, Blink, Green Day, Bad Religion) with a foray into emo & hardcore, but that was a long time ago. I've recorded stuff over the years on my own expanding more in the indie rock, shoegazey, spaghetti western, or even americana genres. Listen to the samples, it's all over the place. I can sing backups and blend with you, and can do some vocals if we settled on a style that keeps them secondary.

Not looking for an intense "all in" band situation where someone's entire self-worth is riding on it's success. I like creating music for it's own sake more than performing it. But if I REALLY like your music and you need a bass player to perform, I will consider.

I'm in my 40s with a career, family, and other hobbies, so my preference would be mostly about friends getting together once a week or two to sip an IPA, noodle around and come up with some original music for ourselves. Whoever likes it, good for them. If we get enough material to play out locally a little, cool, if not, also cool. I mostly play bass at a level that would fill a band need, but also love to bring out my baritone guitar and am happy to get in the mix with other guitars.

Influences

Current bands & sounds of interest are SDRE, Frightened Rabbit, Holy Fawn (check them out), Mogwai, Manchester Orchestra, Jawbreaker, The National, Death Cab, The Constantines, The Hold Steady, Fugazi, Juno, DIIV.

I love walls of sound, ambient guitars and steady grooves with ebb/flow dynamics. But I'll always have a soft spot for some of that nostalgic four on the floor pop punk or screamo. I have some practice space in my home in Franktown with a basic drum kit and an old PA if needed, and neighbors aren't close.

That said I also have written chill singer/songwriter stuff and sometimes love a calm soothing vibe, because I'm middle aged now and not everything needs to blow out your eardrums.
