ABOUT

Hi everyone!
I'm Jesse, 29, male, singer and guitar player. Find me on snowman3645 to see some clips of my singing/playing. I've had a hard time finding people who are interested in covering/creating the styles of music I'm interested in. see the list of influences below. I'm looking for more or less an R&B jam ban. re-imagined covers, originals, whatever feels good! I'm personally working on my songwriting, along with general recording and video editing. meeting a few people that can pick up songs quickly and like to play by ear is my biggest priority. if we can enjoy playing covers together, writing something new should hopefully come naturally as ideas surface.

my singing voice is in the middle upper range. singing amy winehouse, justin timberlake, jamie cullum songs is within my normal range. singing is my stronger of the two disciplines. I have a relatively smooth and softer voice, I can get raspy and loud... but don't generally gravitate towards songs where I'm just yelling for the whole song. see the spotify playlist below for reference.

my guitar playing style is very much a John mayer rip-off at times. Haha I mean, as best as I can. I have learned within the context of playing on my own, stringing together long solos is something I have only recently started to focus on. I can generally pick up chords by ear in a few minutes and at least get the skeleton of a song down pretty quickly. I'm hoping to find some friends that can do the same or better then me. I need a challenge! someone who has general music theory knowledge is a must. scale degrees, nashville numbers for chord progressions, that general stuff. I don't read sheet music at all, but have general knowledge of chord shapes and quality, key signatures etc. if you're a bass/keys/guitar/drum player who loves R&B/jazz/blues style songs and chord structures I would love to meet you!

I have an interest in producing and recording and went to shoreline CC for their recording program (9 years ago) although I have not made producing or recording a big focus of mine. basic tracking in logic pro x, adding affects and inserting midi tracks is about as far as my knowledge goes with that. for what its worth :-)
