Hi everyone. My name is Jason and I’m a 22 year old drummer looking to start a band…or join an existing band that fits the criteria below. I have been in a few before but want something that will go somewhere. I’m very dedicated to “making it” and want nothing more than to be a successful musician! I’m tired of being stuck in the garage!!

Anyway, I’m looking to start a band that has the sound of bands like Blink 182, MXPX, Anti-Flag, Green Day (before American Idiot), New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Sum 41, No Doubt, etc. As you can tell, I want something that is along the lines of punk/pop punk/mainstream. I guess you could say some of the Warped Tour type bands. Lyrically, I like songs that are about anything and everything. From the girl you’re dying to be with, to the song you wrote because you were bored out of your mind. I love it all! Honestly, check out my profile and you can see the list of bands that have influenced the sound and lyrics I’m looking for.

I would like for the band to be completely original. I have some lyrics to original songs, but no music to them yet. I am open to any material that new members may have.

I'm really into music that you just cannot stand still to. I love music that makes you want to move. Ya know, jump around, crowd surf, mosh, etc... I love it! The more energy in the music, the more energy the audience has! I’m looking for the ability to write songs where one minute you can’t help but jump in a mosh pit and the next you’re standing there just bobbing your head to a nice 6/8 groove.

As I said before, I’m extremely dedicated to this. Music is my life and I want to bring that to others through this band. I’m tired of being in a band “just because it’s cool.” Let’s go somewhere with it! I’m looking to make being in a band my career goal. I work full time right now to make ends meet, but I’m ready to quit the day job to rock out!! I’ve been in a few bands and have plenty of stage experience.

I’d like to keep the band to a 3 piece, but that’s negotiable based on the other’s input. I want the 3 guys who are all friends who love to hang out and make music scenario…sound good? You would need to be open to the idea of sharing the role of vocalist. I want the guitarist and bassist to split the vocals. Also, it would be nice if you were 18 or older and out of school, but if not, we can make it work, as long as you’re dedicated to the cause!

I have a Pearl Export Series 5-piece drum set (jet black) with Pearl hardware. I use Zildjian cymbals. Sizes are ZBT: 10" splash, 14" hi-hat, 16" crashe, 20" ride, Z Custom: 12" splash, 16" medium crash, 18" medium crash. I have an Orange County Drums and Percussion snare with 4 vents. I use Remo Smooth White Ambassador heads for the batter side and Weatherking Ambassador heads for the bottom. I have a Rhythm Tech drum set mounted tamborine and an LP rock cowbell. I use a DW 5000 series single bass pedal and Vic Firth 5A sticks.
