Influences

Any music of any genre with vision and struggle in it.
I feel sincerity and vulnerability in the music that moves and influences me the most.

Those who have lengthened the arms of their musicianship through a lifetime of commitment and then put aside the immediate bird in the hand of recognition through conventional playing and composing in favor of the two in the bush visions that came along the way that may never pan out are who inspire and influence me.
These souls have come through all forms of music to touch us even when they cannot be traced.
It is my thoroughly conjectured opinion and my unscientific calculation that this makes up about 10% of the music available to listen to.
This music I depend on as life giving.
On a lighter note, I have a fondness for the vinyl 45's holding the American music of my childhood and early teens roughly 1965-1980. Radio music has certainly found its way in. The current project is a nod to that music in its seeming simplicity but its elusive mystery as to what will hit and what will remain through time.
