I am a drummer. I have been playing a drum set for about 8 years, with some snare lessons back in elementary school. Lately I am a lot more committed, playing at least an hour a day if not more. I have always rocked out alone and played whatever comes to mind until lately, I have started playing along to my favorite music, which is basically every range of metal. My weak spot would just be the fact that I don't have a lot of experience jamming. Every once in a great while I'll play with my friend and its always hard to get a beat going with his complicated riffs, because I simply practice so much on my own. I am obsessed with catchy death metal beats. I'm trying to reach the 200 bpm mark right now with my double bass and I actually am getting axis longboards this week so that should help.
I'll start with the earliest bands and form a timeline...
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
Metallica
Pantera
System of a down
Disturbed
In Flames
Soilwork
Killswitch Engage
All that Remains
As I Lay Dying
Between the Buried and Me
Opeth
Arsis
Mercenary
Dream Theater
Protest The hero
That is a pretty basic of some of my favorite bands.
Some of my favorite drummers over the years have been:
Chris Adler, Jason Bittner, Blake Richardson, Daniel Svensson, Bobby Jarzombek, Mike Portnoy
I'm working on making a more mature drum set now that I am a lot better at playing. Mainly just need better/more cymbals..
Tama Starclassic 4 pc drum kit

Crap Brand Snare(sounds decent though)
Sabian AA High hats
