We are an independent production company based out of Bushwick, BK that is looking for Vocals, Keys, Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, Trombone and violin/cello for an upcoming string of live shows as well as for a web based, cable access show that is getting shopped for national syndication.
We have been working about a year on getting things together and doing some trail/error stuff to perfect our craft.
The band is diverse: covering jazz, house, disco, hip hop, rock, soul, and everything else.
What we are looking to do for the TV show is actually have a long one time session with the musicians with a few different looks to then edit into the footage of the regular format of shows that will be taped over the next three months... So the gig will be really basic, pain free, and only once for you to then be a staple on an entire season of a great show!
We also have a subsidiary record label that is releasing its first effort with our debut artist, so there will be a few gigs where our TV show band will back the artist. We are doing a listening party of the record next month then in early 2012 shooting a concert DVD, doing some live release events, and then trying to get booked, paying gigs from there and think about touring where there is demand.
As of now we offer travel, food, and a benefits package for rehearsals and the main TV taping, however per booked shows with our recording artist- payment is a go.
In the way of the horn section: we want people that are versatile: can play funk, soul, house, jazz, do good gospel riffs, and work well in groups as far as blending.
Keys- our key player is Jewish so in the event that she cannot work on Sabbath (Friday night to Saturday afternoon) we will need you. Keys has to be a well versed bag of tricks that can do it all. We want some aggressive enough to romp, but still blend with the big sound of the band.
Vocals: We are looking for versatile, well crafted vocalists that can sing soul, r&b, gospel, and pop... There is opportunity for both lead and background work. We are cool with mixing both male and female voices- however you must be able to blend, recognize pitch, intonation, etc... We don't just want nice voices, but voices that can meld. Having a jazz, soul, or musical theater background would be great.
