I'm looking to join a band to play out on a usual basis and possibly tour with as well. I'm in my 20s though I have around 15 years experience playing guitar (most of which I took lessons during) and over 10 years experience playing in bands live(cover and original).
I play solid rhythm as well as being able to add additional texture and counterpoint to preexisting parts as a secondary guitarist. I can play lead as well, but I don't shred out of taste, I generally stick to improv or vocal-like leads. Most of my background is mostly in rock, anything from classic rock to current alt. I also focus on ambient, electronic, post, punk, metal and ska. As far as learning preexisting songs go, I can learn and play by ear quickly as well as read charts and music notation. I write songs as well as can do a bit of backup vocals if needed. Though guitar is my main instrument I play bass, cello(classically trained for multiple years), and a bit of keys.
