ABOUT

Ideally I want to be in a band that takes originality seriously and wants to be creative. But even being in crappy second rate bands for fun is cool too so I'm down for whatever I can get into.

I played in a band in high school for a couple years nothing serious though, it was some gay alt rock + screamo thing we had going on.

I'm most interested in making an indie/pop-punk band, not sh*tty radio pop punk like fallout boy or something lame, it would be more in the direction of The Matches' first couple of albums or The Used or something. I would also be down for some really unnecessarily over the top psychadelic prog rock stuff like The Mars Volta though that would take alot of work and I'm not sure if I'd be up to par for that on guitar or not with some of the sh*t they pull off... but we could try.

My main problem writing music right now is that I need more creative collaboration because I get bored of making simple tasteless music too easily when it comes to really going for it, I can take the role of lead vocals + rhythm guitar (if we don't have another rhythm guitar), OR I can play rhythm/lead guitar and just be backing voxx when its needed. Either way I'd like to work with other creative musicians when it comes to the writing process so the songs will probably be up in the air, I can always contribute if its needed and always welcome contribution (especially if it doesn't suck).

Since the writing process is the toughest part of making or breaking the success and fun factor of a band I think its more important that I first find either a good singer with the ability to write and collaborate on original songs or a pretty creative guitarist so that I can deal with the singing part. My role can shift depending on who I find and what they're good at. I just want to have some kind of foundation and know what sort of sound we're going for before tossing the songs over to the rest of the band to work on drums / bass. I could also be down for some kind of electronic stuff too.

EQUIPMENT

I'm using a Schecter omen 6 electric guitar it'll serve whatever purpose for now, I also have a really nice Martin acoustic too. For amps all i have is a crappy practice amp and a bigger 40 watt washburn one too, the 40 watt has a bigger speaker than they usually stuff into those. I'm using a line 6 distortion pedal and an Ibanez flanger/chrous pedal.

But whatever I can always spend money on new equipment if I like what we end up writing and like the band, same for my work schedule i can work around the band if we get serious.
