ABOUT

I bought my first bass a little over a year ago, and I’ve managed to make it a very important part of my life. I’ve been learning on Yousician, but I’ve also memorized scales and have been getting better with improvisation. I still have lots of work to do, and I’m excited to keep learning and playing.

Influences

Flea was the main reason why I wanted to learn bass in the first place. I love how well rounded of a player he is. Cliff Williams of AC/DC would be another influence, he’s actually taught me a valuable lesson about life. It’s mainly his attitude; The attitude he has while playing “simply” is super inspiring to me. And then, of course, you have James Jamerson, the bass legend of Motown. His approach to “feeling” the bass has really inspired me, especially with my improvisation.

EQUIPMENT

The bass I have is honestly cheap, same with my amp. I plan on buying new equipment once I have my own place, so I won’t have to worry so much about the volume. I also play a lot at night, so that impacts the sounds I can play.
