The TakeOffs' instrumental "surf" music will take you back to the sound of the glory days of 'Rock and Roll' and remind you of the music of The Ventures and classic surf bands like; The Surfari's... and The Pyramids... and The Astronauts... as well as guitar stars like Dick Dale and Duane Eddy. TakeOffs lead guitarist Bill Mello, captures the sound with a Fender Stratocaster and enough "twang" and reverb to send you right back to Surf City. He's backed up by bassist John Hunt, drummer Conrad Mathews and rhythm guitarist Ron "Bumpy" Rhoades. The band also does the contemporary new surf sounds of bands like Nashvilles' Los Straitjackets, The Blue Hawaiians, The Bambi Molesters, Tiesco Del Ray, The Halibuts and lots more. All four of The TakeOffs are long time residents of Kauai and are seasoned veterans of the local music scene. Their music is really a lot of fun and will have you up and dancing and at the least.... tapping your toes.... in no time at all .
