Socially conscious post-hardcore band seeking an experienced modern rock drummer.
We recently lost our drummer to tragic circumstances, and even though a great human being can never truly be "replaced", it is now time to continue this project. We are a socially conscious post-hardcore band in Philly seeking an experienced modern rock drummer. We need someone who: Can focus on the music and the message, not an immediate paycheck (e.g. has a job/income/support). Note: We are NOT looking to hire an employee. This is about passion, not pay. Is at least 18, and if over 30, can actively participate in the band like someone in their 20s. Has professional attitude appropriate for a band (calls/texts when late or not showing up) Has flexibility in their schedule to play 2-3 times per week (including practice and/or shows) at times, play gigs at relatively short notice, & hopefully do some regional, long weekend touring in the future. Enjoys and can work with non-standard time signatures and changes. Owns their own equipment. Lives in the Philadelphia Metro area. Current practice space is within Philly city limits. Feels comfortable with the advocacy of progressive/social justice issues via our music (similar to RATM, Rise Against, Against Me or Anti-Flag). Has a desire to ever so slightly make the world a better place for all. Comfortable immediately jumping into a session and jamming/writing parts "on the fly" Is willing to limit cover material on the set list to 10% or less. Major Influences: Thrice, Billy Talent, SoundGarden, Brand New, At The Drive In, early Mars Volta, Circa Survive, Rise Against, Stabbing Westward, Against Me, Strung Out I am willing to send a scratch track after we speak and determine there is mutual interest.
