ABOUT

A voice is an instrument like any other. Like drums, bass or bagpipes it is essential to the overall sound of a completed work of art. It is not superior, nor inferior, to its accompanying instruments. And it is a voice that I bring to the table.

I have not gone to school to learn to sing, nor have I ever had a voice coach, but this does not mean I would be against either. It simply means that I learned to sing the old fashioned way: by ear and trial and error.

From the time I was 14 I knew I wanted to sing. So I began listening to my favorite songs and imitating what I heard. After a while I began combining styles which brought me a revelation: I did not want to sound like a cookie cutter artist that sounded the same in everything I did.

I wrote my first song (lyrics only) when I was 14. Since then I have written more than 100, but have only been able to put a çouple to music. I want that to change.

So now I turn to you. I have no illusions, I don't expect to get together on day one and make gold. I want the trial and error, the brain stew of four to six musicians tossing around ideas until a song is born. I want to do this the right way.
