I play bass and have always done lead vocals for a heavy-edge punk band. For the style I sing, I can hold a tune and keep a vocal melody going... but my vocal tends to hit the low end with some gravel. Kind of a Henry-Rollins-meets-Lars-Frederiksen sort of a thing.

Hardcore has been a big influence over the years, too... bands like Amendment 18, Agnostic Front, Madball, Terror, Dear Furious, Mean Season, Chorus of Disapproval, Straight Faced, etc.
