I am a true west-coast girl! Oregon, then California, then Washington state until I moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1999. I came to the Jacksonville area in search of the sun -- true story! Anyway, I studied classical piano for eight years as a child. I also enjoyed putting on mini-concerts for neighbors and friends using our player piano and my voice. Although I have done some musical theatre, most of my singing has been within the context of church. When my vocal coach "let me" try a blues song, even she was surprised at the depth and tone of my voice. That was my niche but I didn't get to fully express my love for the blues until just recently. Now I intentionally include many genres of music in my repertoire--classic/alternative/southern rock, country, latin, and, of course, the blues. My favorite artists are Amy Lee, Melissa Etheridge, Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi and Etta James. When recording my CD, Broken Chains, in early 2008, I was able to include an original piece, "I Wait, I Believe, I Wonder, I Hope." I had no idea I could write music until I just sat down with a beer and started typing and singing along. That was a very good day! My goal is to entertain with every song, every note I sing! There is nothing more satisfying (okay, maybe being a mom qualifies) than grabbing the attention of individuals in the audience and entertaining them. A show-off (and a flirt) by nature, the stage is the perfect playground for me! I am thrilled to be a part of ReZist and look forward to many many fun and exciting times!

Influences:

My favorite genre is the Blues, but I enjoy maintaining flexibility vocally, so am not opposed to going all over the place. Keeps things interesting that way. The only thing I am definitely not interested in is complacency. I want to learn new songs on a regular basis and loathe the idea of getting stuck in a rut. I have a lot to offer AND am willing to work my ass off to make things happen.

Equipment List:

I have joined the band known as ReZist. We are a group of seven and are working hard to get ready to start gigging in September. You can find out where we will be playing at Rezist-Rocks.com. I am really glad that I held out for the right band! It's going to be a blast!
