Troublefish is RetroFresh--driving pop/rock music that gets your body moving and brings a smile to your face. Fun and optimistic; ntly familiar yet new and energizing. Troublefish celebrates kinetic art and thoughtful storytelling, in compositions tuned to modern digital streaming platforms. Seeking audiences who fearlessly embrace new music! We are releasing our album Sept 2022; some of the tracks are uploaded here.

We are an all-original band with great songwriting. We went corporate before A/R reps discovered the Seattle scene--Bose Corp, Microsoft, Stockpot, Boeing--but maintained the passion! BTW, we are featured on the KZOK Best of the Northwest 1982 compilation under the Name Brando Bogart :-)

Influences

We are a modern, current reincarnation of our early 80s Pop/Rock/New Wave/Punk/Alternative selves. Our early influences were The Cars, Talking Heads, Clash, Stones, Elvis Costello, etc. Before that it was Zep, Jeff Beck, Joe Walsh, Eric Clapton. Before that it was Herb Alpert and Burt Bacharach. We have been writing rock songs with a pop twist for decades; at times it was termed "New Wave" then "Alternative" but it is all essentially PopRock.

Now we just pour that in a caldron, add an eye of newt, and dish out driving pop-rock full of layered hooks, interesting chord structures, and driving rhythms.

Lots of amazing guitars and basses (Boogie Bodies, Fender, Gibson, Warmoth, etc), Amps (Mesa Boogie, Fender Twin, Marshall, etc.); we rehearse at Buttersound studios in Everett with full stage and PA. We listed one rehearsal per week but will increase frequency as warranted.
