ABOUT

I'm guitar/vocals, enjoy blues-rock, classic rock, maybe some country, Americana, or whatever comes along. My specialty is slide guitar, but I play a variety of styles. I'm now looking for members (bass and drums) to revive a group that used to play on a regular basis around town. I've also tried doing some solo and duo gigs and while I enjoy the energy of a full group, solo/duo is also fun and it opens up some more venues, so a duo partner would be nice too. Whatever the case, I'm always interested in expanding my musical contacts.
I like to rock out on the blues and work up a good sweat, but I also enjoy kicking back with some front porch pickin'. The stuff I write ranges from blues-rock to classic R&B style (love to get a little funky), or maybe "adult contemporary," and of course everybody loves a good country song.
I put in my time on the road back in the day, and I'm reasonably proficient on guitar (lead, rhythm, slide, finger-pick, etc.).
I'll have a drink now and then, but I'm a light drinker and I prefer working with people of similar habits.
If you'd like to talk about it, I'm at 404-569-3465

Influences

Musical/Guitar Influences would include: Keb' Mo', Bernard Allison, Duane Allman, Taj Mahal, JL Hooker, Santana, Albert King, Elmore James, Lowell George, Johnny Winter, ZZ Top, all that great 60s & 70s R&B (Wilson Pickett, James Brown, Solomon Burke, et al.), Danny Gatton and can't forget Mel Bay!
Songwriting influences are subtle, but a few that come to mind are: the Motown and classic R&B writers, JJ Cale, JL Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Lowell George, ZZ Top, Paul Simon, Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan (good luck), a lot of classic rock writers that no one knows. If you've ever heard of Tom Lehrer, I think he influenced me as a child.
