ABOUT

I've played Viola (not violin) for 30+ years. My experience with viola has been mostly classical but I am open to more modern rock/pop/alternative/dance genres for creating a unique sound/style. I can read music and I do have a good ear. Also am a vocalist, singing with a couple top-40 cover bands in the early '90's. I have additional experience singing in a Unitarian choir in Virginia, sitting in with local musicians in small venues and singing odd jobs for weddings/memorial services. I recently moved to Connecticut in the Hamden area and looking for new musical situations that would be fitting. Currently, I sing Soprano in Another Octave: Connecticut Women's Chorus and play viola with the Hamden Symphony Orchestra.

Influences

I feel we are all positively influenced by what we appreciate and I appreciate artistry in many different genres/styles...songwriting/storytelling, vocal/instrumental talent/ability, musicianship, stage presence, originality...There are way too many to name and yet not one specific I can say has influenced all of my musical background & experience. It would be easier to say who I enjoy, respect and appreciate as artists...Just to name a few...Billy Joel, Jason Mraz, Lindsey Stirling, Imogen Heap, Billy Idol, Madonna, Pentatonix, David Bowie, Adam Lambert, B52's, Ellie Goulding, Basia, Berlin, Annie Lennox, Bjork, NIN, Chemical Bros., Crystal Method, 2cellos, George Michael, Heart, Joss Stone, JT, KD Lang, Kate Bush, Katy Perry, Lily Allen, Maroon 5, and the list goes on & on & on &.....
