Gardens of Forgiveness partners with Soul Dogs for Love Wins tour -
Tour promotes the work of the International Day of Peace

Zirconia, N.C. – The Gardens of Forgiveness has partnered with Los Angeles-based band Soul Dogs for Love Wins 2014, an East Coast tour promoting the work of the International Day of Peace. The tour will commence on September 11 and culminate on September 21 at the International Day of Peace concert in the Band Shell in Central Park.

Soul Dogs band leader Sharon Benson and her bandmates Lyndon Harris and Robert “Wayno” Switzer will begin the tour at Tigg’s Pond Retreat Center in Zirconia, N.C., where they will perform at the 9/11 commemorative event being hosted there.

Performance dates are open for booking at locations along the East Coast from North Carolina to New York City. The tour will promote the ideas of peace, support for first responders and healing in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, and will include Harris’ personal stories about the relief efforts at Ground Zero. The music for the concerts is particularly geared toward giving thanks for the work of first responders, and will include appropriate songs such as Benson’s “You Rescued Me” and Harris’ new song about the recovery work at Ground Zero in the days and months following the 9/11 tragedy, “We’re Not Leaving.”

Sharon Benson is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician, actor & producer. Her band Soul Dogs (aka The Cosmic Rescue Team) was the back-up band for legendary actor, David Carradine. Her original music has been featured in Films, Television, benefits & festivals. As a result of her work as a humanitarian, Sharon was given the title "Ambassador for Peace". With her production company, Biheart Entertainment Group, using Music as her vehicle, Sharon is working to help make the much needed Positive Change on Our Planet a reality!
Robert Wayne is a drummer and percussionist who has performed at the Nelson Mandela concert in 1988. Has toured with 3 Dog Night, Dave Mason, DIO and The Soul Dogs. He is currently touring with the Kate White band, a non profit band who is playing in prisons and homeless shelters throughout the northwest. Robert has always wanted to make a difference using music as his vehicle.
Lyndon Harris is a singer songwriter and artist in residence at Tigg’s Pond Retreat Center in Zirconia, NC. Harris is also a forgiveness coach, an inspirational and motivational speaker, having spoken for numerous conferences around the world. Harris has over 20 years’ experience as a pastor and his work as priest in charge at Saint Paul’s Chapel at Ground Zero in New York

Call for Artists, Community Groups & Vendors!!!

As part of the 4th of July Parade and celebration in Huntington Beach, which is the largest 4th of July parade west of the Mississippi attracting upwards toward 500,000 visitors, the Art Park show/ Festival will be geared toward the interactive and the collaborative art and creative activities as well as being a place to show art works.

The Art Park will be part of the festivities in Lake Park, on Main Street between 11th and 12th streets, which hosts a Grand Stand on the parade route with 500 pre paid seats along with other street side viewers, a pancake breakfast which serves on the average of 1500 people and which is also a viewing area for the Fireworks show.

The Art Park will be showing motorcycle related artworks, antique and some modern motorcycles, as well as family oriented activities, interactive art, art displays and Art/creative activities to create the experience of art rather than just the showing of art.

The Motor Avenue Farmers’ Market is a California Certified farmers market, whose farmers are exclusively certified producers which guarantees patrons that their produce is grown in California by the people who are selling it and enhances the farm-to-table connection and availability of fresh, local produce to residents in the Palms, Cheviot Hills, Beverlywood, and surrounding communities. The market is dedicated to cultivating a sustainable food system through its operation and educational programs.

The market takes place every Sunday, rain or shine, from 9am to 2pm at the intersection of Motor Ave and National Blvd.

They regularly feature: Fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables from certified California growers, Fresh seafood, Prepackaged and prepared dips, chips, cheeses, salads, sauces, Fresh baked goods, tamales, omelets, crapes, and more!
